AUDIO: ‘Going Out of Your Mind’ with Ed and Deb Shapiro

Andrew recently spoke with irreverant spiritual teachers Ed and Deb Shapiro on their radio show ‘Going Out of Your Mind’ about a variety of interesting topics including: the evolution of the guru-disciple relationship within a postmodern context, Andrew’s recent trips to India, their own experiences with some of their respective past gurus, the significance of awakening to an evolutionary perspective, and much more.

It was a very rich dialogue and well worth the listen!

I would like to start by saying how much I appreciate Andrew’s thought, his book and what he is trying to do in regard to Evolutionary Enlightenment. I would say that I appreciate his thinking as much as anyone’s at this point in time.
However, I have a deep concern about the level of commercialization that seems to have emerged in regard to him and Enlightennext. It seems that there are more and more emails trying to sell retreats, books, workshops, online courses, audios, videos, etc. Also regular fundraising requests. In addition, I feel that the cost levels are rather high, particularly for the retreats. I know that reasonable expenses and salaries must be paid. However this seems beyond that and also seems contrary to a newer consciousness which is less focused on commercialization.

I totally agree with you, Richard.
I wanted think, it was my personal vision, a French woman’s opinion about a typical American Guru!
