What a fantastic read, Gary. I probably only missed you at Bodhi Tree (?) by a few years, but I appreciate your experience and wisdom.
I love the information on the apocalypse as archetype. Just last month I was commenting to a friend that I feel a large percentage of Hollywood’s output are movies and now television shows set in post-apocalytic times. A Boy and His Dog, Logan’s Run, Mad Max, Terminator… Jericho, V, Dollhouse, Fringe, the list goes on and on – and these are ones I can think of even though I don’t watch tv!!

While I agree on the whole with the spirit of this blog and acknowledge that I may get caught up in the impatience of these times, and the feedback loop it provides, may I suggest that if the rumors coming out of Fukushima are even partially correct then this impatience may be what is required from all of us in order to blast open some next stage of physical / conscious development as a near future of an irradiated planet is somewhat problematic for this level of humanity … Jungian Archetype or not!

Although we can study ancient civilizations to get some clues, what will actually happen in “2012″ is unprecedented, meaning it hasn’t happened before. Rather than focusing on predicting what will happen, we need to focus on reconnecting with our higher self and fulfilling our higher purpose–because that’s the real purpose of this time, of the time around 2012.

It would be really great if in beginning what will no doubt be beautifully significant words about this phenomenon, could we get it Indigenous – ly correct that the Maya calendar did NOT PREDICT THE END OF THE WORLD? geesh… you all should really know better. It is a re-boot of calendrical measure. On a galactic scale. It’s the Indigenous calendrical / cosmological POV.
