Put Yourself in God’s Position

The whole idea behind evolutionary enlightenment is to become a liberated human being who is a real player in the life process. Because it is only in and through individuals who are real players—who have awakened to what an extraordinary privilege it is to be one of the luckiest people to have ever been born—that God, or the energy and intelligence that initiated the creative process, can actually do anything. If you put yourself in God’s position, you will see that you wouldn’t be able to create the future in and through a selfish, self-centered person who deeply experiences incarnation as a burden. There simply wouldn’t be any room for you in such an individual’s heart, mind, and soul. This is why our enlightenment—our development beyond ego—has become nothing less than an evolutionary imperative.

This comment is so inspiring. It recalls the concept of being the Perceiver, the One Who knows who She/He really is. When you know who you are, you are free, unafraid, willing to reach beyond where you are. Being human is just one level of existence; being aware of being human as part of a larger existence is a bigger game. You can’t get hurt being god being human…

this all sounds good on paper, but the bottom line is, i’ve done a course based on cohen’s view and i don’t care how much you live as the evolutionary impulse, my finite self seems to need therapy. if i was a well balanced, healthy person i could understand, that mild nerosis or a bit of modern/post modern malaise isn’t something to hold you back, but.were do you draw the line? so far, there aren’t any, it’s just, “forget about your personal problems’. that doesn’t cut it in my experience. li’ll keep an open mind because that’s how i roll

Keeping an open mind is the essential step. I’ve found we don’t just “forget about our personal problems”. Instead we must look deeply within ourselves to face all our hidden pain and shadows. Only once we are willing to see everything about ourselves while at the same time fully accepting and embracing our pain and shadows, do they start to lose their hold on us. The other essential step is to recognize that the unconscious, limiting beliefs (which create our pain/shadows and therefore problems) are not true unless we continue to identify and engage with them. This takes work (and often skilled guidance). But once we become willing to turn and face our pains/shadows without judgment and willingness to see them as teachers of the unconscious thoughts/beliefs about ourselves and about Life, then we can recognize that God/Intelligence is there supporting us every moment to let go of what no longer serves us and focus on what Life has to offer and what we have to offer Life.

  3. What a joy it is to wake up deadly serious about being free, expanding consciousness and culture. I realize now, that this is no part time endeavor, it’s a reorientation, for life. Literally. Life is new everyday, when no longer identified with memories, history, feelings, etc, but rather who we really really are, the god force, the energy and intelligence that is creating the world. Is there is a better or bigger game the freely play in than life?

    Namaste Andrew,
This realisation therefore explains the very reason why someone is born as a pauper and someone a prince or princess.

I doubt the truth is quite so simple. Look at how easily you become a Romney spokesperson (Harish’s comment). EJMadden

Very inspiring words to live by! To evolve you must participate — a life lived intrinsicly, regretting, numb, or oblivious is truely a life wasted.

Biological progression of sentient beings , as per Darwin’s theory, shows that evolution is the dharma of Nature. While Nature has done its part, it is for humans to take the next leap. We are still mostly living at body and mind level with certain exceptions of some people crossing the barrier. Humanity is now poised to soar into the realm of spirit and strike a harmonious relationship between body, mind and spirit, so that we truly become three dimensional and complete the left out job of Nature.
