VIDEO: Proof of Progress
This past weekend I was interviewed by Nitamo Montecucco for an upcoming documentary called “Global Shift.” The filmmakers allowed us to publish this short clip, during which I share some of the interesting–and inspiring–new information I’ve read recently that supports the view that in spite of all our global problems, things are actually better for more people today than they ever have been.
The Guru & Pandit Virtual Series
On June 2nd, 2012, Andrew Cohen & Ken Wilber will lead the first of a new four-part series of webcasts together. Building off the decade-plus-long dialogue in the pages of EnlightenNext magazine, the two are bringing their inquiry into the virtual sphere with a series of free broadcasts that will allow you to join them in exploring the leading edge of consciousness and culture (including Q&A).

Because of the prediction by the Maya civilisation many people have interpretated this to be Global Distruction. The doom and gloom merchants and movie makers are making mega bucks out of all this hype.
All that is happening is that an old cycle has finished and a new one is begining. That is not to say that there will not be any natural disasters or man made ones [Wars, polution chemical and nuclear etc] To me this means a raising of the vibrational frequency of the Planet and everyone on it and an alignment of the Galaxy. To some this could affect them as deep depression and to others the possibility of spiritual freedom or enlightenment. It is the storm before the calm. [The shift from old to new]

We are all doing very well. In love, without judgement or thoughts of a story of what the mind would think.
the mind receives information via the 5 senses that the mind is aware of. We all know that a dog has a better sense of smell than we do. Our senses are limited, they have parameters. We are only aware, with our mind, of such that we need to be aware of to survive within the gross material world. Clearly there is more going on. More colours, light, sound, more to taste than we can taste. Our touch, via skin to nerve endings is not as sensitive as the antenna of an ant, nor as vast as the wind, which touches us all.
I believe that the mind will drive you mad if you ask it to understand that which is beyond it’s information gathering senses.
To grasp what Andrew talks of regarding meditation, one has not to grasp at all. The mind is ever ready to look for the next problem, that’s what is does, very well. In my experience, it can help to give the mind a task, to keep it busy then it won’t hold your attention by switching channels looking for something to do.
Those that struggle with ‘letting go’ might like to try:
closing your eyes, breath in a little more deeply than normal then, hold for a second or two and as you let go of the breath, slow but comfortable, think of and see a vast blackness. In the centre and so far away a point of light, heading away from you. Follow it, you decide it’s pace. The pinprick of light can stay as long as you need it, it will not abandon you in the great space. Relax, With a little practice you may let it go too and enjoy the feeling that comes from being beyond the mind and the senses. I am just another man who struggles with life, this helps me, I hope it helps you too. I choose love as the only way to practically live. Of course, I am a leaking cup and I forget what we all are sometimes. All you are my glue. Thank you for all we are and try to become. We are all doing very well.

Lovely! Thank you, Matthew Om Shanti!
Andrew presents an “understanding” of God – a religious theology – that is based on a description of what “God” is and was before time and space. = .perfection, perfect peace, needing nothing, free of desire all desire. and then Andrew seems to say that God got bored during these “eons of no time?” and needed to create? It seems to me that Andrew is describing how a human being might respond to long periods of time of doing nothing and needing nothing and how that might become boring to human beings who need to create in an unfolding story of time and space. Andrew seems not to be unable to reconcile what he authoritatively states as the perfection of God – perfect freedom from need – and the idea that God “needed” to create the Universe. And, Andrew seems to do that with a high level of confidence that his understanding and description of the conditions before the universe was born are unquestionably correct.
I,m sorry I didn’t connect with Andrew’s video. For one thing who’s standard of how good were doing is he using? I felt he was disconnected and not speaking as everything as one. The animals our beautiful planet earth and our universe as one. He seemed to me separate from spirit. I certainly don’t think most indigenous culture who have had their cultures and lives stolen from them by corrupted governments think that everything is better. Just my thought. Love to all!!
