A Portal for Creation (Quote of the Week)
In the way that I use the term, God is the energy and intelligence that created the universe and is driving the process forward in every moment. And that energy and intelligence cares desperately about change and innovation and the release of potentials that have not existed before. So it is constantly looking for portals through which it can enter into the world and consciously engage with creating its next step. As conscious human beings who have been blessed with self-awareness and free agency, we are those portals. Each and every one of us is potentially a portal for the energy and intelligence that created the universe. You have a human body and a human personality, but from a certain perspective these are merely sheathes through which the cosmic creativity can shine. From the vantage point of the creative process, your human form, your personality, with all the particulars of your own history, your personal relationships, and your life circumstances, is a vessel for an infinite process that is trying to go somewhere. How conscious are you of this? How conscious is any one of us that in this very moment the cosmic process that produced us is now dependent on us to take its next step?

it is amazing to see how the world is changing now.. more and more people are becoming sensitive to the forces which drive us (also on global scale: politics, economy.. just look at the arabian countries! the political powers based on fear are slowly dissapearing), acting out of fear is being increasingly avoided.
may more and more light fill the sails of all those “vessels for an infinite process” which are creating own smaller realities and which combined alltogether making our world.

•We feel this energy and intelligence as a completely neutral cosmic force moving worlds and universes. Maybe not the whole God, but a part of God called Power. Neutral in the sense it does not care about who you are at the soul development in terms of qualities as compassion, goodness and care. That explains what Rabelais said “Science without conscience is soul’s decay” so the sciences of Consciousness without conscience can be soul’s decay . If you seek this energy at all cost , you will get it but what will come out of you is very much dependable on who you are “personally” at the soul level. Can we say that to be in a position to contribute to a higher level of goodness, instead of focusing to get this energy at all cost , one has to start very near : to put our teeth in this matter of the self as a raw vehicle conditioned by millenary patterns of greed,competition,envy,violence ,tribalism whether on materialism as well as on spiritualplanes,hate,agression…(and it is a much harder and less glamorous work but that is for us the very purpose of existence), so that this energy and intelligence can find a portal of evolution and not involution into the world and universe?
Andrew uses the term blessing to characterize the gift of self-awareness and free agency.
As a true-blooded American I can concur with free agency being a blessing but I wonder about self-awareness. Those who know my comments will recognize I’m all for knowing self and find those without interest or clue often disappointing and uninteresting.
But compassion and self awareness like most things have the downside as well and until you succeed in becoming comfortable in your own skin, it can be somewhat of a wound, IMO. By comfortable I mean TRULY comfortable and not the kind of blind self-acceptance that kids self.
I’m wondering how compassion/empathy can have a downside. Your journey is foreward to unconditional
love. Your ego is not helping. Disappointing/uninteresting are intellectual reactions to content which is your ego. If you are really looking at your human from the perspective of your spirit, you already know yourself as an evolving character/personality full of energy and information. Self awareness can be either ego’s story or knowing you are part of the whole universe not just your current history.
Hi Tom,All energetic movements that arise from the Causal Ground come in complimentary pairs of opposites. While an individual is still separate from that Ground, any amount of awareness of conscious engagement with empathy/compassion(which is also the moral imperative in you),will come with its opposite or “down side” as Frank proclaimed.And yes,the stable integration of empathy/compassion means also the integration of its opposite. Until all separation is undone in Nondual Suchness,opposites rule. But the avoidance of one side of a pair of opposites is not complete integration. Unacknowledged “parts” should, at some point in development,be transcended and included,or else they remain a shadow element in the psyche which continues to create symptoms.Let’s not be quick to call Frank’s admission his “ego.”Soul development happens alongside of ego development,and the Soul,too,is dual to its Self.The Soul,just as the ego,is a subtle contraction away from the Primordial Ground. Higher, clearer levels of Compassion unfold with higher, clearer levels of awareness.
The reason I speak thusly is because when I became enlightened eight years ago,Compassion overwhelmed me, but it came with a very intense “opposite” which I needed to see through.That opposite was a sort of jadedness to humanity’s ignorance, violence, greed, narcissism,etc..All of this I had to integrate in complete acceptance as I got “comfortable in my skin”(as Frank used it).That is the Sword of Compassion and Discriminating Wisdom;it Ultimately feels the pain of others separation while it does battle with the prevailing ignorance.
It’s not hard to feel a sort of anger or disappointment while at the same time feeling deeply moved to act to undo the pain of others.I argue it’s a natural part of development.LOL
As I mentioned, unless and until your Authentic Self and Awakening occur, which may be gradual and hesitant, compassion may give you pangs of pain in your empathizing. For some, Awakening may be sudden and dramatic, for many it may be a process of fits and starts, peaks and plateaus.
For tender hearts, this may cause the downside of suffering until understanding is achieved.
I ponder if psychoanalysis leading to accomodation and acceptance is somewhat like acceptance of the way of the world in Awakening, preventing going mad. I become OK with issues is one way to deal, but is that really enlightened?
Acceptance of what has emerged and is present in awareness is affirmation, not resignation. Whether you see it or not,what is there belongs to you; how could it be any other way?
Worldcentric identity necessarily comes with more responsibility and complexity, just as ethnocentrism had it’s “duties.” Kosmocentric identity reveals that the Self is all of humanity,all the world and its environments,all of the universe, the interior and exterior of All things simultaneously; self-creating,self-emptying,self-liberating.
Even though I had been prepared by all that came before to accept the all-encompassing responsibility that was the very expression of the Self’s Freedom, it took time to accept and integrate.Remember, I didn’t know at all what “enlightenment” was. It took about two years to accept and begin to understand what it’s purpose was in me,but there was never any choice.
Divine Will means “the choice of choicelessness;”Spirit’s Will is all that is ever functioning at every moment, in everything. To reveal this Absolute Truth means you’ve become choiceless in the Absolute sense. What is arising is the perfect Suchness of Spirit, and where others not accepting or knowing of this truth define things by their “good or bad” qualities, the realized person can’t help but feel compassion for even the child molester and murderer;God is in/as them, and if I am that, I am them. Compassion is affirming in it’s acceptance;it reveals that the Divine is Love and Love is the essence and purpose of the transformation all things;Love reaching for Love.
