A Measure of Freedom (Quote of the Week)

If you aspire to become an evolutionarily enlightened human being, your ability to do so depends upon accepting the simple fact that independent of external circumstances, you always have a measure of freedom to choose. That sounds like a simple statement, but it’s amazing how many intelligent people will deny it. When you look honestly for yourself, however, you will see that it is true: you are always choosing. Sometimes your choices are conscious; sometimes they are unconscious. Sometimes they are inspired by the best parts of your self; other times they are motivated by lower impulses and instincts. But the bottom line is that every time you act or react, at some level a choice is being made. And you, whoever you are, are the one who is making that choice. After all, who else could it be?

There is no freedom in choosing, it only appears so. Because who will choose, who will be the chooser?! It is always the human mind, who is the chooser, because the mind is dualistic, it lives in duality only. Man mind has created the dualistic perception of Existence – good and bad, beautiful and ugly, evolutionary and non-evolutionary, this and that. Mind means duality and choosing.
The real freedom is beyond mind dualistic perception and its choosing faculty; the real freedom is in the One Oneness, where there are no two to choose between, where No-mind and Non-duality exists in Love, Truth and Bliss. Nothing to choose, nobody to choose, only choice less awareness of what IS.
To live in consciousness means exactly this – to be constantly in choice less awareness, or in other words to be enlightened.

If you find yourself on a railway track and in non-dual conscious awareness you realise a train is rushing towards you, do you stay perfectly calm and still and know that you have no choices to make – or do you choose to jump out the way? If you do move but stay in non-dual awareness, please explain this? Just asking…..
